Goddess on the mountain top
Burning like a silver flame
The summit of beauty and love
And Venus was her name
My dear friend, the dream designer, used to sculp ancient goddesses of clay. I loved them. I also treasure my goddess necklace forever and actually feel the energy when holding it and wearing it.Burning like a silver flame
The summit of beauty and love
And Venus was her name
My dear friend, Inbal, celebrated her birthday last week and I have made her a quilted ancient goddess because of who and what she is.
Inspired by herself and The Venus of Willendorf (22,000 B.C. and 21,000 B.C) I needle felted my own version of venus and she stands proud in the center of a mixed media mini-quilt (8.5 X 11 inches).
I love mixing techniques and materials.
In this piece I used:
- coffee and rust dying (inner background, various scraps in the corners and the lace)
- beading
- needle felting (venus)
- found objects (tree branch I found in the forest near the camping)
