I guess it's no secret that I LOVE textures and color
Nature is full of these inspiring images and I can't get enough!
I love walking in the forests near the camping and I find wonder even in what considered to be dirty.. moss is just beautiful, isn't it?!I didn't plan it but it looks just like my latest felted piece (see previous post)
I have cut the new fabric I created and used it for an applique of a dragonfly on my latest clutch. It was too sunny today so I will have to take better photo's for my shop in Etsy. Maybe in the weekend. hope you could be patient
And the last photo is of another surprise I noticed in the garden today - The magnolia's will bloom soon!

Pink rain
It is official now, spring is here. It is raining already 3 days in a row...
At least other creature of nature enjoy it.
I was also experiencing some more with my needle felting machine. I realized that if I punch some fabric on the back side of my piece it creates an interesting effect: little dots of fabric go through the layers to the right side. like water drops. like pink rain
I wonder what it will be...

Mental pause
When I need to take a mental break from quilting, punching and designing I craft.
And if there is a birthday coming soon and I need (want) to make a gift than it is even better because craft needs an occasion.
I have made these colors holder roll for a friend of my son who will turn 4 next week and of course I made one for my son at the same time.
The idea is taken from the Australian magazine "Homemade" the pencil holder designed by Ton Coward. only I made it longer so I could put more colors in it.
And Yes, I think suns, flowers and butterflies are perfect for 3 and 4 years old boy just like kitchen toys and softies! They are still young , innocence and happy for God sakes!

Vacations season begins
After half a year we drove today to the camping to see if our caravan still stands on the ground.
It was a lovely day today and apparently other people came alive too so after two hours in traffic we arrived. The caravan stood just where we left him. No water running where it shouldn't, nothing is burned, nothing exploded...
Just the wc has been conquered by mold so the first thing I did was to evacuate the black villages. It wasn't pretty!
But the good ones with bleach won.
At the moment that dutch people begin their vacation season they begin to work in their weekends...
I am not dutch by origin so I don't mind if it looks like this behind the caravan.
The leaves could wait. I had other more interesting photo's to take.
Denzel was re-discovering his toys and bicycles from last year so I went outside with my camera. Every time amazed with it's capabilities.
Taking a photo of the sun! How cool is that?!
And taking really close up photos with the optical zoom.
All photos were not being edited in any way! the colors are all authentic, only I am not sure if the ladybug in the last photo was still alive...
It was really a nice day and I looked at the photo's over and over again when we sat two hours in traffic on the way back..

Destashing has never been so much fun!
What do you do when you have some fabrics that just lay there collecting dust but you can't find anything to do with it because the fabric is not easy to work with or the pattern not so nice?

and make bags!

Street art
I try to teach my young son to care about the environment and to treat it with respect. He is 3 years old and already knows that only bad kids smash the glasses in the bus stop and only bad kids stick their chewing gum on the stop button in the bus. He knows that you only throw trash in the garbage cans and not on the ground.
There is only one point where I failed. Although graffiti is considered a form of vandalism and I think also illegal I can't hide my admiration when I see a really good piece of street art. And if I have my camera with me I take a picture.
I think it is a relatively harmless vandalism and I believe some cities need it otherwise they would be colorless 80% of the year... (Amsterdam
)
bad education
I have so much pleasure of 2 purchases I made last year: needle felting machine and a new camera. I can't seem to get enough of punching scraps (and I have more than enough scarps!) and than I take close up photos!
Birds villa! that is what comes in my mind.
I made one large piece and then quilted some doodles with the machine. It turned out to be just in the right size to become a wallet.
I like how it turned out. It makes me think about that street art so I called it "Graffiti wallet"
p.s. Don't forget my giveaway! there is still time to participate!
And you should see what Inbaliya, The dream designer, is giving away - don't miss it!

Pieced
In the beginning I thought autumn but at the end it turned out spring after all.
Now I have one fabric chosen for the inner frame and still looking for the outer frame. Anyone who knows where to get fabric that looks like bricks-wall and will post a link to the article I'll appreciate it very much.
