I try to teach my young son to care about the environment and to treat it with respect. He is 3 years old and already knows that only bad kids smash the glasses in the bus stop and only bad kids stick their chewing gum on the stop button in the bus. He knows that you only throw trash in the garbage cans and not on the ground.
There is only one point where I failed. Although graffiti is considered a form of vandalism and I think also illegal I can't hide my admiration when I see a really good piece of street art. And if I have my camera with me I take a picture.
I think it is a relatively harmless vandalism and I believe some cities need it otherwise they would be colorless 80% of the year... (Amsterdam

bad education
I have so much pleasure of 2 purchases I made last year: needle felting machine and a new camera. I can't seem to get enough of punching scraps (and I have more than enough scarps!) and than I take close up photos!
Birds villa! that is what comes in my mind.
I made one large piece and then quilted some doodles with the machine. It turned out to be just in the right size to become a wallet.
I like how it turned out. It makes me think about that street art so I called it "Graffiti wallet"

I just love that wallet!
Thank you!
love the wallet!
Ayala, your son is precious, love that curly hair! I agree with you about the grafitti, it makes life much more interesting! Gorgeous wallet too!
I too love the graffiti but only when it is purposeful. The grafitti that is obviously done by someone talented and practicing or wwanting to make a statement. I do not find the gang graffiti interesting. Top me the nonsense words and scwaled designs do look like vandalism. The wallet you made is gorgeous and yes indeed it does look like graffiti. You are teaching your son to see beauty in many things and that is a good thing. Kudos to you....
I agree with your opinion of graffiti, if done tastefully, there are some amazing artists out there.
