A note before I go

Tomorrow we go to the camping for a week. vacation.... with my mother-in-law...
I didn't finish packing yet and I need to iron some jeans and to choose what I take with me to create because the sewing machine stays at home...

But one thing I HAD to finish before going away was the pencil pouches. I need to take them with me, to write a greeting card and to send them to the charity organisator not later than this week.

I only send 5 of them because I heard there are already too many..
I hope the kids like them

Till next week!

Polka dot

This week I let myself be inspired by polka dots! and It was fun!
I don't have lots of polka dot fabric but I had these ribbons I bought once don't know why and some scraps and beads of course..

Put them all together and this came out:

The lining is a wonderful vintage fabric I bought in Ebay with the idea of making me a dress...
I only used a little bit of it and there's enough for the dress. one day

And a close look of the crazy quilt embelishment

Pokla dot was a great inspirations this week.
Thank you Inspire me thursday!

Very sad today

The bodies of 1st Sgt. Ehud Goldwasser and Sgt. 1st Class Eldad Regev are coming back to Israel today. After 2 years not knowing what happened to them. Israel went to war 2 years ago trying to rescue Ehud and Eldad. Maybe alive then but they failed and other soldiers felled. A circle is being closed today. And it is so unfair. And so sad.

I am sitting behind my sewing machine busy making these 10 pencil cases and the Israeli channel is on. Luckily crazy quilt doesn't have to be accurate so much because I am really having trouble seeing something straight behind the tears..

Hooked

I am hooked! I can't stop crazy quilting...
This one is for my new collection of makeup pouches I am making for my Etsy shop.

But lately I hade some projects of pieces that should be washed. I participated in a swap of aprons and I make these small pencil pouches for kids who begin their first year. these pieces should be washed preferably in the washing machine. traditional crazy quilt would not survive the spinning and bead embroidery is out of the question. It should be simple and very strong. It was time to try some of the decorative stitches in my sewing machine!

here is a part of the apron

The results are really nice and very strong. I haven't tried all the stitches yet and haven't used the combinations. When you are not in the mood for difficult calculations then the possibilities are quite endless...

It wasn't a swap

The post woman had to ring the bell because the envelope didn't go in the door.
An envelope from Australia. I knew it had to be quiltygal because I don't know anyone else in Australia and she was supposed to send me stitcheries of bears to embroider on a baby quilt I want to make.
But she didn't send only the stitcheries (which are adorable!!)

What a surprise it was!! And it wasn't even a swap!

While my son's mouth was full of chocolate (And I had to hide the rest for another day) I was still admiring the little tins with beads

And still admiring them. They are just too beautiful!

I already copied some of the stitcheries. We are going away this weekend and I will take them with me.

Thank you, Claire!

crazy quilt exercises

Last weekend I made 3 crazy quilted ATC's

No, I didn't forget one. I can only post 2 of them because the one I liked best is on the way to Pam Kellogg. We swap and I hope she like it.
